LITTLE MISS PIPER, BROTHER, and MOM!

I had the privilege of taking some photos of a dear friend and her kids. She happens to be a photographer herself...well more like retired photographer. She in my mind is "super women" and has started a new business on top of a new born and her photography business. I got a call from her one day about her news of wanting to quit her photography biz and take on her new business full time. She knew she couldn't do family, 2 kids (one being a newborn), and 2 businesses. So, being of sound mind, she decided to quit her photography and refer anyone who contacts her for photography to me. Right then you do the double take and say.."WAHHH???" Did you say you were going to GIVE ME all your clients and refer them out to me? Not only has she done this, but she has also given me a bunch of MUCH NEEDED photo props! My jaw dropped and has been in this position for a long time. Needless to say this is how one can receive free photos for life! Not to mention what a wonderful friend I've gained. Thank you Amy.

I was very honored to have been asked to take her daughters newborn pictures and then again at 2 mo. The day of the shoot I was sweating..it was actually very nice out! Yes that had a little sarcasm tone to it. After the summer we've had...you would too! This was the worst summer this native Oregonian has ever experienced. (It's why I'm still pale :( ) I know from experience that doing a photo shoot with your kids there are bound to be some minor frustrations. The need and want for the perfect shoot is sooooooooooo important to a mom it's almost indescribable. So when the 4yr old won't look at the camera the whole world is falling apart. Well, not really but it can feel like that and it can send a mom's patient over the top! You almost want to give up and cry! Tris is 4 and I thought he did such a fabulous job! So he smiled and wasn't looking at me 75% of the time, but he did what he was suppose to do! Jump, pose, hold sister, run, stop, go, sit here, search for snakes, and when he wanted to he would look at the camera and smile at the same time! Well done Tris! You are such a sweet young boy and I can tell you are going to be one terrific big brother!

So after all the minor details were taken care of (they seem so big to mom) we managed to get some of the most adorable shots of BIG BROTHER TRIS and LITTLE MISS PIPER. Thanks again Amy and John for letting me do this for you! You're children are absolute angels!

Kayley is one beautiful girl! I met her and her mom down in Troutdale, this past Sunday, to do her Senior Photos. The sun came out just in time too! Kayley has such a sparkle about her that was so much fun to shoot. Those eyes...just look at them! I can tell she is such a lovely person inside and out. So photogenic and easy to work with and not to mention a love for the Lord. Once we got a few shots out of the way and few jokes into the session, she began to relax and we got some amazing pictures of this young lady! Of course, we had to sneak mom in a few. On Febuary 10th, 2010 the world welcomed another miracle. World, say hello to "Graciela Mercedes Nunez." I couldn't have asked for a better model as with every pose she let me move her and lay her in various positions only to have her SLEEP where I put her. She was a photographers dream!!! What a perfect little thing we call a newborn! Thank you Rachel and Jose for inviting me in your house to take pictures of your little angel! I can tell you that mom and dad are smitten with love! Last August I got to shoot a wedding of my husband's childhood friend. As with most weddings there was so much going on. Flowers to decorate, tables to set, DJ to set up, food to prepare, and directions given to a lost bridesmaid...priceless! You would never know this was all going on if you looked at the bride. So calm and cool and all she could do was smile! She was just happy to be getting married.

Larry and Armida were married on August 15, 2009 near Estacada, OR. The clouds were tempting us with threat of rain, but nothing ever happened. That was good because we had lots of partying to do.....and partying they did. After the wedding was over, the food was served and the dance floor was open...I believe till midnight! What fun they had and I had watching and taking pictures of everyone!

Thank you Larry and Armida for having me shoot your special day! I had such a blast being with such a big family! I wish you both the best!

I think I met Danielle when I was 10?? Danielle..do you remember? Danielle and I grew up together at church. So, now after some years..not mentioning how many exactly, I was honored that she would ask me to take her families photos this year...instead of her usual place. She said she wanted something different and different she got. Not to mention, I think she wanted pictures of her gorgeous new home!! How fun and exciting it is to be able to celebrate the holidays in a new place. I love change like that. I have to say it was strange in that it didn't take long to get through her session. Her kids are older and move and SMILE faster! I felt like i was missing something.....but i wasn't. I got Trent to laugh in a few pictures by telling him what i tell the LITTLE ONEs......hummm he's 13!!! Trent...doooon't SMILE!! He would crack up!! It was great. I found something out as a new photographer...you can make the older ones crack up with the same tricks you use on the younger ones!! WHO WOULDA THUNK!!!
Danielle and Paul..I hope you enjoy your pictures! I was excited to do them and honored as well. I can't believe how OLD your kids are getting!!! Life goes by so fast...so if i don't see you before... Merry Christmas you guys!

It was a rainy friday here in Oregon and I got to go and shoot a beautiful family inside for a change. Let me tell you, this family had their act together. Picture this....the Christmas tree up and decorated, lights on the house, music that made you feel Christmas was around the corner, and the family was dressed to the hilt! The girls and I had a bunch of fun..decorating the tree, playing with jingle bells and helping me get a smile out of the other child! Even though sometimes they didn't want to smile, I just love how these pics show their own personilities!
By the end, little Ella sure loved the lenses, but mostly from behind!! She would crawl up in my lap and clap and dance. She was happy there. Mom, dad...maybe she wants to be a photographer too!? I just wanted to take her home.
I have not forgotten how busy a 9 mo old is...I just miss it.

Sweet little baby Emmett...so sleepy. He sure didn't mind that I was around and certainly didn't know what day it was. I do remember this day, as our nation will always remember 9-11. Even 8 years later, what an impact it has on me. Only for these moments did it fade and only for a moment, because I was surrounded by one of God's greatest miracles...a beautiful baby boy. His name is Emmett Ellis. He all of 6 weeks and I couldn't wait to get my hands and camera on him. He is well loved by big brother Bryce. Two brothers bonded for life. What a special gift. Thank you Jill and Dave for letting me in your home. Congrats on your new little miracle!!

What a day at the park we had. This is Seth and Petra. They are my husband's cousin's kids and it was Seth's debut to show off his 1year old status. Those blue eye, John Deere hat and overalls were oooozzing with cuteness. Even his sister Petra couldn't resist getting in a few photos, although not quite as happy. From the looks of things we did well, thanks to mom dangling behind me to get them to look! Petra's friend even helped...which brought out that I'm not gonna smile, SMILE! We almost didn't get these shoots of the cupcake...thanks to a few birthday party's at the park, we manage to ease into another shoot even though nap time was way overdue! Oh what fun it is to be 1! Okay...okay...have we waited long enough?!! I'm happy to say I have some pictures to show all you, but first I have to tell you all how this PHOTO EVENT went! After seeing 12 families in all, we raised $140.00 to give to the leukemia foundation! A big thank you to all of you! I know I can't run in a big marathon, but I can take pictures! It was so nice to meet you all and hopefully I'll get to see your smiling faces again someday! Also, I almost forgot about our drawing! I would like to introduce to you the young lady that inspired Brinda, who inspired me! Kamelah Noel. Kamelah was diagnosed with leukemia over a year ago and is currently being treated for this disease. I know that WE all can do "something" to make a difference in a life of a child......hence this day WE ALL pitched in with a big smile!! It may not be much, but it's something. I had the best two days with some amazing families and you all know who you are!!! First, I want to say thank you to all of you who came out to have their photos done and supporting such a wonderful cause! A few of you guys donated extra money and I wanted to say THANK YOU!!!!
It will get put to good use!

Also, a big thanks for Brinda Sundberg who helped me organize this extravaganza! She massed emailed all her friends and co-workers about this day and helped me organize all the appointments!!! You're an angel Brinda! She was also the woman who inspired me to give. She and a few of her friends ran in the Portland Marathon in efforts to raise money for the Leukemia foundation and she finished in less than 5 hrs! WOW!!! I knew that in my heart I would love to do something like that, but can't run to save my life.....thanks to old volleyball injuries!! So, this is where this Fall Family Photo event came from. Something I love to do and something I CAN do..... and at the same time I can give to such a worthy cause!!! I didn't do this in less than 5 hrs....but needless to say it got done..rain or shine or wind!!!!

I am in the process of working on these photos and want to show you all your pretty faces, but you all will need to wait a little longer. I won't stop until they are all done so in the mean tine I'll leave you with these words.......YOU GUYS ARE ADORABLE and CUTE!!! Keep checking back, I will post some soon!!!

HAPPY TUESDAY ALL! Okay, so are you ready for your family to have their picture taken? No worries if your not as there will be plenty of opportunity for you to have it done...provide this incredible weather stays with us. The trees are NOT QUITE there, but the weather is beautiful! If you are still interested in having this done the time to book is now!!

You may be thinking what do we wear??? Well, here are a few things to think about. Bright Colors are fun to play with and show up well in pictures. So, be bold try a RED or ORANGE, but don't get to busy with prints. Solid colors work wonderful!!! As always, white shirts and a pair of jeans is always a favorite and will always be a classic!! I may have titled this section " FALL FAMILY "....... it really was just an idea. Maybe you have a birthday girl/boy who needs their pics done or maybe you want some CHRISTMAS pics done early!! The choice is really yours! Also, if your thinking I can't make these days, but I really want our family photos' done for Christmas!!! No worries, I can also come to your house or a park for for such a thing as well. Just call me or email and I can give you more details on this particular photo session.

Again, on these dates, you're purchase will include a half hour of my time and lots of family shots as well as individuals. If there is a particular pose you want...please feel free to chime in!! After all they'll be up on your walls for everyone to see. I will put all photos taken on a CD for you to do with whatever your heart desires!!! :) I will have printing options available to you or you may do that on your own.

I want to take this time to thank all of you who have supported me in my new journey. The doors seem to be wide open and I seem to be plenty busy. What a blessing this is. But , without your help, by spreading the word and booking sessions with me, my business won't flourish. Please help me...... spread the word .....a referral is the best compliment anyone could give! Not sure if it's just me, but where did the summer go? Not that i don't enjoy the FALL here in Oregon, I am going to miss the warm sunshine and kids playing outside! So, with that, let embrace what we have and remember it by finding those cozy sweaters and warm pants for a fun FALL FAMILY picture day! It's gonna be FUN!

Right now the trees are thinking about turning and some have! Although, this is my favorite spot for this type of thing. And I know "MOM" ...she's already thinking about what family photo we can use for Christmas!!! So, may I help you?

I am offering a FAMILY PHOTO session ...yes you can bring the dog if you want!! For $20.00 you will get a 1/2hr of my time (maybe a little more..it shouldn't take long) and all the pictures on a CD. I will pick a few out and edit them as well. My hobby's are getting the best of me!

I will keep you posted on a day we can get together. Until then we'll have to wait until these trees turn those awesome shades of orange, yellow, and red! It really is just around the corner, so keep a few days open...Oct 10th & Oct 17th. WEATHER DEPENDING!
